Counselling Support
What is Counselling?
Counselling provides a safe and supportive environment for students to share their concerns and work through social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges with a trained counsellor.
Counsellors support students in developing strategies to manage their emotions and situations effectively. Through this process, students are empowered to make informed decisions that support positive growth and well-being.
Support and Referral Process
There are three levels of support available:
1. Support by Teachers
Students are encouraged to approach their Character Coaches or Year Heads, who will provide the first level of support and guidance.
2. Referral to Counsellors
Students who require more specialised support may be referred to the School Counsellor or a Teacher Counsellor for early intervention.
3. Referral to Specialists or Community Agencies
Students who require more intensive support may be referred to:
Lead School Counsellor
REACH (Response, Early Intervention and Assessment in Community Mental Health)
Relevant social service agencies
Who May Benefit from Counselling?
Students may consider seeking support if they experience:
Stress or school-related anxiety
Academic or examination anxiety
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties with peers
Family conflicts
Bullying
Cyber safety concerns or online threats
Signs of emotional distress
